Mallorca: 5 beautiful beaches to discover
If you do not know yet Mallorca you will quickly realize that it really is not difficult to find an end to sand where land and enjoy the water generally transparent in which bathes the island. So the problem is rather opposite to the abundance of beaches all the more attractive one than the other which to choose? Besides than in the heyday many of them are overrun by tourists or locals. Here is a selection of beaches Mallorquines a little more unknown whose charm will make your friends more than jealous when you return:
Cala Llombards: first stop south of Majorca in the region of Santanyi. Go to the village of the same name where a sign tells you just the direction of this beautiful unspoilt cove of buildings and where the bay is more like a natural pool where the water ripples slowly in transparent shades of light blue. This is the easiest beach to find our selection which explains why it is relatively busy but its beauty is well worth a visit. Santanyi center, 5-10 minutes by car count. Note that at 2 km from this beach is one of the most beautiful coves of the island, but she deserves to find it for you to browse to the subdivision located on the right before entering the area of cala Llombards (just before the sign detailed neighborhood).
Cala Mondrago Following the visit a few steps from here in a protected natural park particularly conducive to walks in the middle of 750 hectares of pine forest and nature. Go back towards the village center of Santanyi then once you reach the roundabout at the entrance of the village turn left towards Cala d'Or / Mondrago. You will drive about 5-10 minutes before arriving at the park and again about 10 mins on a relatively bumpy road before reaching the parking lot. After crossing the pine walk for 5 mins then you will come out on a huge cove draws a true turquoise water lagoon around which stretch two beautiful sandy beaches: Calo des Burgit, the most popular with its two bars / restaurants, and S'amarador, wild and completely lined with a multitude of pines.
Cala Mitjana: it totally changes of scenery with this tiny cove hidden among the pines. Cala Mitjana remains much less known and frequented cala Llombards Mondrago and the fact that you have a good 10 minutes walk along a rocky path before you get there. But the (short) path is worth it because it is a beach very different from what we can discover elsewhere because of its bucolic atmosphere. The narrow inlet that extends almost all in length gives the impression of sitting along a river setting, lovers of peace you will be pleased (unlike those looking rather the animation). In the village of S'Horta head towards the sea, 700 meters on the left you will see a sign for Cala Mitjana, follow the 2 kms further and a footpath leads directly to seemingly innocuous. Despite the lack of places you will however have to leave your car at the entrance to the road to continue on foot. After skirting a few fields, a golf course, then entered a sort of undergrowth, wedged it Mitjana will emerge a few feet below you on your right.
Cala Varques: The least we can say is that this beautiful cove, which is probably the most beautiful beach of this selection is not easy to find and you will discover that if a local you the shows absolutely no sign as hints at its existence. Once in Manacor take the small departmental towards Porto Cristo and the end of the road turn left at stop sign towards Porto Cristo for 200 meters. Then take the small dirt road very bumpy on the right after which you can park. Go through the portal in front of you (even if closed) and then walk 15 mins along the path. Rather young and relaxed atmosphere with regular small games of volleyball on the beach, frequented almost exclusively by locals or residents.
Cala Formentor: Great beach lying north of the island that can not access only after climbing the Cape of the same name, the opportunity to admire a beautiful panorama near the lighthouse. Calm and transparent water, large deep green pine trees and sandy reward your ascent (by car do not worry), unless you prefer a drink really fresh and admiring the scenery of the mountains fall into the ocean.
This is already enough to leave you good memories and enjoy your stay on Mallorca but there are many other beautiful beaches around the island, starting with three pretty coves of Portals Vells southwest, the great and windy bay of Cala Muro area of Alcudia in the north or south Es Trenc that extends several hundred meters without any buildings nearby. Enjoy your swim!

[...] The sandy beaches are found mainly on the east coast of the island while the west coast has mostly pebble beaches or gravel on the mountainside. The water is not equally clear and less grandiose setting but the access is sometimes more difficult and less comfortable than on fine sand. On the other hand do a ballad in the middle of the mountain in order to arrive at a beautiful cove saving and refresh with a dip in the clear water will leave you good memories. Matter of taste ... If you prefer the afternoon at the waterfront and beaches foisons therefore rather prefer the east of the island, which you access by the way, if you go a little off the beaten path, by narrow roads lined with stone walls, sillonant among many olive groves and almond trees, or small pine forests. Decor Provencal guaranteed. To discover some of the finest bathing spots please read the previous article on the beaches of Majorca. [...]
The first picture on this page mentionée nest pa at all in this list. This little paradise is quite difficult to find and difficult to access. His name is CALA OF MORO was located next to CALA If Almunia is as magnificent as the first. Do take a snorkel and especially camera!! But I will own suppli Protect and let these two beauties of nature!!!!
True it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Majorca, there is the famous wild creek mentioned in paragraph Cala Llombards. The first time I went there I cut "across country" to find it and found myself with a wonderful view overlooking the creek and the beach: wow
.... Beware though access is not easy (especially if you have kids)! And the beach is tiny, so it fills up quickly. To mask and snorkel I recommend staying on the east coast of the island and especially the northeast of Mallorca, Fishy more than the beaches of the west coast.
